Small claims court – where people represent themselves without lawyers over relatively small amounts of money or property, up to $10,000. It can be a great place to decide your case quickly. Presenters John Powell and Kelly Kritzer will cover how to file a claim – and the process of defending yourself if someone files a small claims suit against you or your business.
Powell has been the trial court administrator for Klamath and Lake counties since September 2013. He has over 20 years of experience as a court administrator, serving in Oregon, Wisconsin, Nevada, Minnesota and Kansas, including time with the Technology Division in the Oregon Judicial Department. Kritzer has been the law clerk for the Klamath County Circuit Court since February 2017. She is an attorney with over 15 years of experience in civil and criminal law.
